AC Corrosion of Buried or Immersed Pipelines - Recognition, Evaluation, Mitigation and Prevention

Course Outline |Who Should Attend |Registration |In-House |On-Demand |Online Courses |PPT Slides+Testbank |Course List | Why WebCorr

 AC Corrosion Course Overview

A.C. voltage on a buried or immersed pipeline is the driving force for the A.C. corrosion processes taking place on the steel surface at coating defects. Among other things, corrosion damage depends on A.C. current density, level of D.C. polarisation, defect geometry, local soil composition and resistivity. Long term A.C. interference on a buried or immersed pipeline can also affect the operation of cathodic protection systems.

This 3-day corrosion short course deals with A.C. corrosion of buried or immersed metallic pipelines due to A.C. interferences caused by inductive, conductive or capacitive coupling with A.C. power systems. This course covers every aspect of AC corrosion: its recognition, assessment, evaluation, measurement, mitigation, prediction and monitoring. Course attendees will get hands-on expereience in using SC-Compass, the computer software for AC corrosion identification, assessment and prediction in compliance with the latest editions of BS EN & NACE standards.

This AC corrosion course is available for in-house training, online and distance learning worldwide. It can also be customized to meet the specific needs of your organization.

 Corrosion Course-On-Demand

All our publicly scheduled corrosion short courses are conducted once a year. However, you do not need to wait for one year if you have missed any of the publicly scheduled corrosion courses as we have this unique corrosion course-on-demand scheme: we will conduct the course just for you (on an one-on-one basis) or for a small group from your company at a time and in a location convenient to you. This option costs significantly less than a full-scale in-house or on-site corrosion training program.
