About This Practice Exam
The three sample questions in the AMPP official exam preparation guide are recall-level. AMPP certification exam at Corrosion Technologist level includes applied questions in multiple areas that require analytical thinking. This practice exam follows the current AMPP published exam preparation guide in both the format and the weighted contents:
- Format: 100 questions, 180 minutes, closed book, pass/fail. Items marked Select all have two or more correct answers and carry no partial credit.
- Weighted Contents: Cathodic Protection 21%, Coatings 14%, General Corrosion 34%, Metallurgy 5%, Internal Corrosion 6%, Safety 3%, Design 10%, Maintenance 5%, Ethics 2%.
Click the option(s) to select, then press Check. Every option gets an explanation — why the right ones are right and, just as importantly, why each wrong one is wrong. Wrong answers here are not fillers; most are either a true statement that does not answer the question, or the correct answer to a slightly different question. That is how the real exam is reported to behave.
Colors after you check: green is a correct option you selected. Red appears only on an option you selected that is wrong. Options you did not select are grey, so a correct answer does not turn the other choices red.
